The RDPR has been instrumental in enhancing rural infrastructure and community facilities across the state. One notable initiative is the construction of 'Sabhangana' buildings, which serve as community halls for various local events and gatherings.
In Madikeri Taluk of Kodagu district, the RDPR issued a tender in September 2022 for the construction of a new Sabhangana building at the District Health and Family Welfare Office. This project underscores the department's commitment to improving public infrastructure and providing dedicated spaces for community activities.
Hudikeri is a village located in the Virajpet Taluk of Kodagu (Coorg) district, Karnataka. According to the 2011 Census, the village comprises approximately 567 households, with a total population of 2,063 individuals—1,018 males and 1,045 females. The literacy rate stands at 79.64%, surpassing the state average of 75.36%. The community is characterized by its rich cultural heritage and active participation in local governance.
Hudikere Gram Panchayat offers a range of services
Services include the issuance of essential certificates such as birth and death certificates, property tax assessments, and approvals for building plans. The Panchayat also oversees the maintenance of local infrastructure, including roads and water supply systems, and implements various welfare schemes aimed at improving the living standards of the community.
The establishment and maintenance of such infrastructure often fall under the purview of the Karnataka Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR), which aims to enhance rural amenities and promote participatory governance.
